On 28th May 2025 the open meeting was addressed by 2 speakers.
Dr Bob Carling (above) from Medway and Maidstone support group talked about his experience of the very successful Focal Therapy which he received in London. He found great difficulty in being treated by Focal Therapy in Kent. Not every man is eligible for Focal Therapy because cancer cells have to be in a localise place in the prostate for the treatment to be effective. The cancer cells must not be near critical structures. This treatment can be repeated and men can also have a radical prostatectomy or other treatments after Focal Therapy. He was unable to provide figures about success rates.
The second speaker was Henrietta Johnson (below) from Clinisupplies talking about how they can help men who have received treatment for Prostate Cancer who suffer from incontinence.

Henrietta also found great difficulty in getting GPs in Thanet to prescribe help for men because they would rather see the men and prescribe treatment and help themselves. Other areas of Kent allow Clinisupplies to prescribe their equipment. She also provided samples of her products.
